Sun24 exists to improve the lives of people in lower-income communities in developing countries through climate-friendly solutions. We test, innovate, iterate and scale low-cost solutions that are environmentally sustainable and resilient. We achieve this by deploying seed capital and in-kind support to local partners to help test and make markets that outgrow the need for Sun24.

Sun24’s current focus areas include agriculture (e.g. biochar production and use), distributed energy (e.g. solar lighting distribution), and low-tech clean cooking solutions (e.g. rock beds to improve three-stone fires). We back ideas that serve practical human needs. We favor technological simplicity and durability. We are lean by intention, not by constraint.
